About SCMA

Background:
In 1996, the South Carolina Marine Association was organized in order to support and promote marinas across the state of South Carolina. Since that time, the SCMA has been reorganized to include the state’s entire recreational boating industry.

The SCMA’s  is providing economic, environmental, legislative and educational support to the recreational boating industry of South Carolina. Through our efforts, we work to preserve lakes, rivers, seas, and shorelines for the future enjoyment of South Carolina’s water enthusiasts. And while doing so, we strive to educate legislators, as well as the general public, to our industry’s contributions to the economy and betterment of our state

The South Carolina Marine Association is committed to promoting safe and better boating on the public waters of our state. In doing so, we shall seek to protect the natural resources of our state in order that they be enjoyed by generations to come. The Association shall serve as the voice of the industry by keeping members informed of all regulations, ordinances, and laws that affect the marine industry and keeping regulators & legislators informed on the Industry’s positions, as well as suggesting needed regulatory additions, deletions, or changes.
